Admittedly I'm a strange breed. . .
I'm a pastor at Verve in Las Vegas, which is "a church for people who don't like church." I am also a tattoo artist (at least that's what I want to be when I grow up.) I am working towards bridging the gap between these two worlds.
I believe at my core that people are not opposed to a God who loves them. Rather we are opposed to some people who claim to follow him. For many reasons I feel more at home with people who would consider themselves far from God. The "church" calls them sinners but I call them my friends. This means that I don't really fit the mold of either pastor or tattooer but my life has always been about not quite fitting in. I'm ok with living in the tension of being on the fringe of society. If I can be honest, I kind of like it here.
